Sisters prevent even worse disaster for Redditch family after fire
THE swift actions of two sisters who were out exercising in Redditch could have prevented a major tragedy. Two young women noticed smoke billowing out from the garage of a home in Oakenshaw Road yesterday evening (Wednesday, February 10). They quickly called the fire service just after 8pm, and three crews of firefighters rushed to the scene. The sisters then banged on the door of the house, which was occupied by a family of four with two young children. Everyone was able to escape from the house - but a "severe" fire went on to destroy the garage and spread up into the main roof.
