Ecker got his first big break in 2011 when he starred in Colombian soap opera Popland! He portrayed a character called Ari Morales and was one of the leading stars in the telenovela which was about Carla, an aspiring photographer who wanted to leave her small town to find more adventures elsewhere. The following year, Ecker starred in action crime drama Fearless Heart as Pablo Peralta but this ran for just one series.
