Paul Coderre, 55, of Dartmouth, was allegedly intoxicated when he shot an Acushnet police officer in the leg after a standoff outside Bayside Lounge late Friday afternoon, authorities said. The officer survived.
“Unfortunately the individual who was reported to be intoxicated fired his weapon, fire was returned as a result of that and he was killed,” Bristol DA Thomas Quinn III said of the interaction that left Paul Coderre dead outside the Bayside Lounge.
