Greg was born in Hartford, CT. He was the son of the late Vincent Joseph and Marjorie (Hood) Lauria. He was a graduate of Cheshire High School, in Cheshire, CT, received his Bachelor's Degree from St. Michael's College in Burlington, VT and his MBA from Western New England College in Springfield, MA. He worked his way through college painting houses, was part owner and operator of a car reconditioning business, and a paint salesman for Sherwin Williams.
