After two fantastic opening Audi FIS Ski Cross World Cup events in December in Arosa (SUI) with its double night races and back-to-back competitions in Val Thorens (FRA), it is now time to solemnly open the year 2021 for some great ski cross action in Sweden with the “Idre Fjäll TRE” event.
For the first time, we are going to witness not two, but three competitions in Idre Fjäll. The first one will be a 600m sprint on the finish straight of the course on Wednesday, January 20, promising to be one tight battle from start to finish. It’s a setting that has never been taking place like that before, so it will be interesting to see, how athletes are going to battle it out at one straight line full of jumps and rollers.

Thanks to the efforts of the organizing committee of Val Thorens, FIS TV production partner Infront, and all  other stakeholders involved, we were thankfully able to witness the second of two Audi FIS Ski Cross World Cup races scheduled for the French resort after Saturday's weather-cancelled race was rescheduled to Monday.
Needless to say, the athletes (along with all other parties involved) were extremely happy to be able to complete the full slate of action scheduled for the weekend, and gave it all they had for the last race before Christmas.

VAL THORENS, France - Canada's Reece Howden claimed a silver medal in men's World Cup ski cross and teammate Marielle Thompson earned bronze in women's racing Sunday.
Howden, of Cultus Lake, B.C., finished behind winner Jonathan Midol of France and ahead of bronze medallist Florian Wilmsmann of Germany in the final.
“Hopefully, I can keep getting into the top-eight," Howden said. "I plan on being here a lot more and just excited to get more opportunities to get on the box.
“I had another Canadian in all my heats, except the big final. Getting to race with Kris (Mahler) and Chris (Del Bosco) was fun, working together on some great passes.”
