Colorado Mountain College has announced a reduction in the mill levy which maintains their taxpayer funded budget at last year's level. They could have accepted a $25 million windfall as a result of large increases in property taxes but chose instead to help taxpayers. Other organizations that are funded by property taxes should look to CMC's actions as inspirational, a move to make a positive contribution to the community. Meanwhile, most government bureaucrats love nothing better than spending more of other people's money. I am not holding my breath.
