More than 30 University of Canterbury (UC) students have spent the past 10 weeks working on their ventures full-time as part of the university’s Centre for Entrepreneurship (UCE) Summer Startup Programme. The Programme provides budding entrepreneurs with mentoring and advice to help them fast-track their startups. After a pitch battle this week, 26 teams have been narrowed down to a final 12 who will present at next Thursday’s Summer Startup Showcase at The Piano. ....

Greystones Christmas Sing is live, with dozens of voices contributing to a rousing online version of O Come All ye Faithful . Soprano Aoife O Connell and her husband musician Josh Bingham came up with the idea in place of Aoife s usual carol singing for Lakers. Dozens of people answered a call for footage of them singing O Come All You Faithful . What followed was a beautiful ensemble recording of the much loved Christmas song. Thanks so much to everyone who took part, said Josh. It was lovely to receive so many videos, both from residents of Greystones and friends and family further afield. ....
