The state's Attorney-General has been called on to refer Richard Pusey's case to the Victorian Law Reform Commission to review public decency offences and ensure community expectations are being met.
Droves of people have spoken out since Pusey was jailed for 10 months - two months of which was for his filming of the aftermath of the Eastern Freeway crash in which four police officers were killed.

Porsche driver Richard Pusey has been sentenced to 10 months jailfor outraging public decency by filming and swearing at four dying police officers after the tragic Eastern Freeway crash a year ago.
Given time served, the 42-year-old could walk free if he is granted bail on other matters. He could also be back behind the wheel in less than six months.
Pusey, wearing a green prison tracksuit and a face mask, learned his fate via video link from the Metropolitan Remand Centre this morning.
Inside the County Court of Victoria, where family members of the four dead police officers watched on, Judge Trevor Wraight told Pusey his conduct was "heartless, cruel and disgraceful" but that he accepted Pusey was remorseful.

Grieving families of the officers killed in the Eastern Freeway tragedy have blasted the punishment handed down to speeding Porsche driver Richard Pusey.
Pusey has been jailed for just 10 months after filming dying and dead police officers in the aftermath of the truck crash, while remarking "that's justice".
The sentence could mean Richard Pusey, 42, will walk free, having already spent 296 days behind bars on remand. He has another six days to serve under the sentence.

Richard Pusey has been called a "soulless coward" after being ordered to spend just a few days more in prison for filming dead and dying police officers on a Melbourne freeway.

The comments from Wayne Gatt, the head of the Police Association of Victoria, underscores the blistering anger that many of his members feel towards Pusey, who was today sentenced in Victoria's County Court over his conduct after the fatal smash.

Richard Pusey has been jailed for 10 months for his "heartless, cruel and disgraceful" actions in filming dead and dying police officers after a Melbourne crash.
The 42-year-old had been pulled over for driving his Porsche at 149km/h along the Eastern Freeway when a truck crashed into the emergency lane on 22 April last year.
Senior Constables Lynette Taylor and Kevin King, and Constables Glen Humphris and Josh Prestney, died.

Australian man Richard Pusey has been sentenced to 10 months in jail for outraging public decency by filming and swearing at four dying police officers after a tragic crash on Melbourne's Eastern Freeway a year ago.
Pusey, 42, had been pulled over for speeding in his Porsche when a 20-tonne truck driven by a drug-addled driver crashed into the emergency lane city-bound just after 5.30pm.
