Cheshire police have now launched an appeal following two deliberate fire in the early hours in Neston. Police were informed of the fires on Shakespeare Road at 2.19am on Thursday, May 20. One of them affected an electricity box which feeds a small block of flats on the road. It left residents without electricity. There was also a second larger fire which involved a quantity of rubbish at the back of a communal garden. Officers have been making enquiries in the area in a bid to establish who started the fires. Kenneth Brown has been sentenced to seven and a half years. Photo: Cheshire Police A man from Ellesmere Port has been jailed after carrying out an armed robbery at a petrol station in the town. Kenneth Brown, of Heathfield Road, went into the service station on Whitby Road at around 8pm on Monday, October 19 carrying a knife. The 58-year-old, who was wearing a balaclava, demanded that an employee open the till. He then climbed over the counter, stole £150 from the till and fled on foot. The employee called the police and, after attending the scene, speaking to witnesses and reviewing CCTV footage, officers identified Brown as the offender and he was arrested at his home that night. ....
