A juvenile offender who brutally struck a young man on the head with a metal pole in an attack that wrecked his life has had his detention increased, after an appeal by the Attorney-General.
The decision means the offender, given the pseudonym Eric , will be transferred to an adult prison.
Eric, now 18, was 17 years and one month old when he committed grievous bodily harm and was sentenced in the Children s Court to five months detention and 12 months probation. ....
