families have been separated since july 10th, and they say they are venezuelan families who were asylum seekers hoping to turn themselves in to authorities, but they were waived on by texas troopers and waived on to land and then rounded up and separated. what do these separations look like? according to the clients according to the attorney, the father in a family unit was separated and then arrested for criminal trespass under the state statutes and the mother and the child and/or children were then turned over to u.s. immigration authorities. texas dps is now denying this, and they are admitting with this, kate, and this is the statement. there have been instances in which the dps has arrested male migrants on the state charges who were with their family when the alleged crime occurred. children and their mothers were

>>y do i am not buying that for one second? yeah. thw, this is now this the fourh time that the doj story has changed. so, david, why said first he had all this authority, then a, i don't. it it's limited to my geographic, my my u.s. attorney's district. then there was.s. atto another r on july 10th of lindsey graham saying, well, something different. and noat it w we have this happen.mber, and remember, son, the compelling thing that has thspenedse in the last several weeks is two brave smistleblowers coming forward chairman smith releasing their testimony publicly and then them coming in front of mr. palmer's oversight fre and testifying. and their credibility was unimpeachable. their story has been consistent. their facts have not wavered. their testimontheiy has been straightforward, and it's been validated by an fband hai who we interviewed. so what i really want to do, what the judiciary committee really ce wants to do, is get io who were those people at this now famous octoberle seventh, 2022 meeting where david weiss said he didn't have authority

days, again, while he was a serving u.s. soldier here in south korea, 48 days in a south korean prison, and he was released on july 10th. that was one week before he decided to join a tour group that took him right up to the dmz, and that's when he dashed across. the rest, you know, as they say is history. but another thing we're hearing in the past 24 hours is the united states government coming out and saying they're trying their best to try to find private travis king, who has disappeared into north korea. we don't know whether he's been detained, whether he's being interrogated, or whether he's, you know, hanging out, whether he's a defector, welcomed there. this is all still a mystery. we heard from the u.s. government saying they've created a sprawling group of different government agencies trying to investigate the fate of private king. but all of them so far have tried various diplomatic channels to try to reach north korea. they can speak through the swedish mission in pyongyang. and that's where most of the u.s. interests in north korea are handled.

place at bars or nightclubs in seoul where he was a serving soldier. one of those incidents he was put in a police car. he essentially started making disparaging swear word remarks at korean people, at the korean police. he started kicking the car. he did about $500 in damage to the police car. seoul police decided to fine him $5,000 for that crime. they didn't charge him for the assault, but instead of paying the $5,000, he either elected to or was compelled to spend time in jail. you can do that here. instead of paying the fine, he spent 48 days in jail. that takes us right up to july 10th. that's when he was released and a week later, he was supposed to be going back to the states, i guess, we assume, to meet more justice at the hands of the military, possibly some kind of discharge from the military at fort bliss in texas. instead, he decided to join a guided tour, based here in seoul

reaction like for folks now that you have gone public as you said at the hearing, you know, in contrast to what a lot of people that you align with politically don't want you to be doing? >> at the end of the day, i think it's my duty, my sworn duty as a federal law enforcement officer that i come forward and i tell the truth. i come forward. i've presented evidence. there's a process that we're given. and becoming a whistleblower, i think that's the most important thing and, look at everything we presented to congress, to the house ways and means committee, none of it has been refuted. none of what we have presented has been refuted so far that i have seen. >> shannon: one quick last question. you referenced the david weiss letter. i believe that was july 10th of this year. he said in that that he couldn't speak to the 1023 form because there was an ongoing investigation. do you know if there is still an investigation going on involving hunter biden? >> so, i was removed from that

sentence here while he was a serving u.s. soldier here in south korea, he managed to pay off his debt. once he was out on july 10th, that was when a week later the u.s. forces decided they were going to move him back to the united states. we understand today he was likely to face further discipline, possibly a discharge when he returned to the united states. he was escorted all the way to the airport, and left there. he had served his time. he was not a criminal as far as the u.s. government and military was concerned. he told authorities at the airport he was missing a travel document. they allowed him to leave the secure area. that's when he decided to join one of these group tours, maybe from base here in seoul and went to the border and the rest is history. that's when he dashed across the border. if he was trying to do to escape further justice, now he is in
