hello and welcome to the programme. coastguards are intensifying the search for a missing submersible near the wreck of the titanic in the north atlantic, as estimates suggest the five men on board could run out of oxygen in less than 20 hours. more surface vessels and remotely operated submarines arejoining in and the rescue area has widened. our news correspondent carl nasman is in boston and has been telling me about the search. it s taking shape and it s taking on some new urgency as well with that confirmation that we are getting that some sort of noise or sounds were detected by canadian search teams. this was on tuesday, even into wednesday morning. we still don t know exactly what or who were making these sounds or even the exact location. but what it s also doing is giving these search teams a glimmer of hope. my colleaguejohn sudworth has more. every available asset is being thrown at one of the most difficult sea searches ever undertaken. these are the latest ....

hello and welcome to the programme. the us coast guard says it estimates that the five people trapped onboard the missing submersible only have a day and a half s supply of oxygen left. ships and aircraft are descending on the remote part of the north atlantic, where the vessel was last seen. three of the people on board are british citizens including a 19 year old. contact was lost on sunday as it descended towards the wreck of the titanic hundreds of miles from shore. the passengers paid $250,000 each to go on the trip. jessica parker reports. these are the last known photos of the titan submersible. they were taken on sunday morning, just before it began its descent. one hour and a5 minutes later, contact was lost. it s a five man capsule. people crawl in. this was filmed by the bbc last year. it shows people being bolted in from the outside. the sub then plunges into the ocean s depths. the us coast guard has released a fresh estimate of how much oxygen may now ....

i am soran qurbani. 12 years ago, i smuggled my way into europe from iran. now, i working for the bbc and i am investigating what is happening to refugees like me on that route today. we met with refugees in turkey who managed to escape, but lost everything in the process. and those trying to tackle it. call to prayer van city, in turkey, on the border with iran and the gateway to europe for many hundreds of thousands of afghan refugees. for decades, people have been smuggled from afghanistan through iran, and into turkey. these undocumented migrants have been fleeing civil war, poverty and persecution. when the taliban retook power in august 2021, the numbers increased. an underground network of smugglers operate safe houses across van city for those who have just made it to turkey. houses, flats, stables, all repurposed to hide the thousands of refugees coming in each year. ahkmed is in his early 20s. the blood you can see is a broken nose. it happened while crossing ....
