North Dakota Native American Essential Understanding, number two, is about learning and storytelling. It states, "Traditional teaching and the passing on of knowledge and wisdom was done through storytelling, song, ceremony and daily way of life.
Our region most certainly boasts many Nordic cultural traditions, as the Historic and Cultural Society of Clay County has celebrated. But it would be remiss to dismiss the inclusion of additional diverse stories, which is something HCSCC is focusing on in 4 current exhibits.
“It’s an easy history to ignore or make invisible,” says HCSCC Executive Director Maureen Kelly Jonason.
