The free monthly event was cancelled in March last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic but is finally making a return this June. Boyne Tannum Arts Business and Community Association president Kahn Goodluck said the whole committee was excited for the event’s return. “(The year) 2020 was going to be the 10th year of BAM, it was really disappointing we weren’t able to run the event last year but this year we’re planning a belated birthday at some point,” Mr Goodluck said. ....

In a general meeting on April 6, Gladstone Regional Council heard 20 applications were received for community event funding from four funding streams â Jumpstart City Heart, Impact, Destination and Ignite. Councillors decided to allocate funds to 18 community investment events. This week Gladstone deputy mayor Kahn Goodluck delivered an emotional tribute to his mate, the Electrical Trades Union organiser, who died suddenly on Monday, aged 49. “I’d like to offer our condolences to the friends and family of Greg Harris, more affectionately known as Haro,” Cr Goodluck said at this week’s Gladstone Regional Council meeting. “Haro was the Gladstone Electrical Trades Union organiser, and he passed away suddenly yesterday (Monday) at the tender age of just 49 years old. “I had the pleasure of working with Haro during the LNG construction, where he was employed as an electrician over there. ....
