Voting harder. 19 new laws to make voting harder, or make voter registration harder. well, oregon as of this week is leading the country in the completely opposite direction. oregon already votes by mail and that has helped them have the highest voter participation rate in the country. but thanks to this new law as of this week that state is about to start automatically registering people to vote. at the dmv, they know if you re a citizen. they know your current address. they know if you re legally eligible to vote. and if you are legally eligible to vote oregon has just decided they re now just going to register you and mail you a ballot. you don t have to ask. they re just going to do it. you can opt out. you can choose to not be registered if you don t want to be. there s a 21-day opt-out period if you do not want to be registered to vote. and of course, nobody s going to force you to vote when election time comes. but the state of oregon will now ....
