Washington and Columbus Community wrestling teams traveled to Davenport Assumption on Saturday for a Class 2A sectional to start up the postseason and four area grapplers advanced to districts. Demon senior Ayden Frazer was not going to be denied a top two finish, as the 182 pounder finished second. He experienced an 8-5 decision setback loss to start the day, but battled back for a 7-0 win and 13-1 major to claim a runner-up spot. The Columbus Community wrestling team got back in the win column Thursday night with a dual victory over Wapello. The Wildcats took care of the Indians with a final tally of 38-33 including winning four of seven contested matches. Lane Scorpil won by a 17-0 technical fall at 113 lbs, Will Hotz took care of business at 170 lbs with a pin in 59 seconds, Kai Malone won by 4-2 decision at 220 lbs, and Chance Malone pinned his opponent in 1:36 at 285 lbs.  Columbus Community wraps up the first half of the season today at Fort Madison for a tournament.
