Local child battling rare, dangerous COVID-19 complication
MADISON, N.Y. -- The new year got off to a scary start for the Ford family, in Madison. They all recovered from COVID shortly after Thanksgiving. But about a month later, 4-year-old Kaison Ford started to complain about headaches and had a low-grade fever. His doctor suspected an early ear infection, and sent the Fords home with a nasal spray. But that night, Kaison spiked a fever of 102 degrees. A second trip to the doctor revealed a negative rapid test for strep throat. The doctor gave him antibiotics for a suspected ear infection. But 24 hours and his fever wasn't budging.
