Kareem Flake, the father of two sons with victim Destini Smothers, was nabbed this week in Kissimmee, Fla., with charges pending as New York authorities sought his extradition, the source said.
Destini Smothers’ family said her discovery Wednesday morning in the back of her Toyota gave them some closure, but not as much as an arrest and a murder charge would.
The confirmation of Destini Smothers' violent demise came one day after the victim’s friends and family, including her heartbroken mother, gathered for a memorial vigil while investigators searched for clues about the grisly disappearance and murder.
