No fewer than 10 people have been feared dead with properties and businesses destroyed following high-voltage of power supply around Gwargwaje and Kauran Juli area of Zaria in Kaduna State.

A community leader in Zaria said the power fluctuations virtually affected all houses in the three communities.
No fewer than 11 were feared killed following high electric power supply in some areas of Zazzau in Zaria, Kaduna State. The areas affected include the Gwargwaje and Kauran Juli situated along the Zaria-Kaduna Expressway in the state. “Electric power supply was restored in high voltage in the area around 1am. It caused indiscriminate spark of electricity gadgets. That resulted in the burning of a house of one Engineer Zubair Abubakar while other houses continued to release smoke,” said a resident of the area, Aliyu Samaila.
