Readers not shocked by child payment defaults
DOZENS of parents across north Cumbria failed to pay child maintenance during lockdown, according to recent figures. Data from the Department of Work and Pensions show that one in four parents across Carlisle, Allerdale and Copeland failed to pay any child maintenance through the Collect and Pay service (CMS) between January and March. The statistics had our readers up in arms on three fronts - defending men, defending women and claiming the CMS..
