Police catch 84 lorries entering Kent without Brexit permit

Police have already caught 84 lorry drivers entering Kent without access permits newly required for travel to France. The enforcement notices were issued in collaboration with the DVLA between New Year’s Day as January 6, as post-Brexit arrangements came into force. A further 29 drivers were found to have breached traffic regulation orders, which included attempting to bypass the Operation Brock queue by accessing the M20 contraflow or using the A20 as an illegal shortcut.
