Hundreds of farmers whose land has been acquired for the construction of the proposed Eastern Bypass and third phase of the Western Bypass between Shamgarh and Bijna village are awaiting compensation for over four months. They are running from pillar to post to get their dues, but to no avail.
The incident occurred at Kharkali village under Bankhedi police station limits during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday when the victims were asleep, an official said.
The project of 34.5-km-long ring road (eastern bypass and third phase of western bypass between Shamgarh and Bijna village) got wings as the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Ambala, has transferred a sum of Rs 104 crore to the land acquisition authorities for the disbursement of funds to
