NASHIK: Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) on Saturday conducted a cleaning drive at 24 locations in the city and collected over 36 tonnes of solid waste.
The Nashik municipal commissioner Kailas Jadhav himself along with other civic officials cleaned Mahamarg bus stand and nearby areas as part of the drive.
“We have launched the ‘Mission clean Nashik’ as per the directive of the municipal commissioner Kailas Jadhav. The cleaning drive will be conducted once in all six divisions.” Our objective is to make the Nashik city clean, said Kalpana Kute, director, solid waste department of the civic body.
NMC also wants to drive home the message to the residents of the city to keep the city clean in view of the forthcoming Swachh Survekshan that will be undertaken by the central government.
