CCTV grab of the theft incident at Atal Ashram on Sunday
Surat: Two donation boxes were stolen from Atal Ashram in the city early on Sunday, the second such theft in the temple since August last year.
Adajan police booked an unidentified person for the theft. Around Rs 5,000 was collected in the two boxes. Earlier a donation box with cash of around Rs 600 was stolen from the same place and theft has still not been detected.
The complaint was lodged by priest of the Ashram Mahantshree Batukgiri Mahadevgiri, (65). The theft was was captured in the CCTVs installed in the ashram. The man had covered his face with a mask and he could not be identified from CCTV footage. Police suspect that some person who was aware about the donation boxes is involved. ....
