HARWICH — Voters chose Mary Anderson to replace longtime Selectman Ed McManus at Tuesday's annual town election. Anderson, the former executive director of The Harwich Pantry, won handily over Jesse Gallante by a margin of 1,140 to 264. Anderson listed affordable housing and a more conservative approach to municipal spending as two of her top priorities. Voters also approved two Proposition 2½ debt exclusions: $1.1 million to purchase a multipurpose fire engine known as a Quint, by a vote of 929-422; and $700,000 to pay for roadwork, by a vote of 988-367. In the only other contested race, John Gough beat Ed McManus, 707-679, for a seat on the Water and Wastewater Commission.
