Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has assured the people of the state that his administration will collaborate and continue

The Amanyanabo of Okochiri Kingdom in Rivers State, King Ateke Tom, has clarified that his recent intervention in the ongoing political crisis is to ensure peace and stability of Rivers.

The group also commended the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, Mr Mele Kyari, for the outstanding display of firmness and patriotism in the lingering issue of the fight against oil theft and economic sabotage in the country.

The Fifteen Companies and one Jacob Aminu Momoh had filed suits in an Abuja Federal High Court seeking an order against the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) to pay for the alleged unexecuted contracts in the amount of ₦3.8billion, plus 21 percent post–judgment fees, and special damages which can go as high as ₦5billion to ₦8billion.

The Presidential Amnesty Programme has said it followed due process in its decision in delisting some beneficiaries from the regular payment voucher of the Presidential Amnesty Programme. Ex-militant leaders and stakeholders from the Niger Delta region had raised the alarm over the delisting of 3,548 beneficiaries from the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP). According to them, this was done in a bid to terminate the programme by the December 31, 2022 deadline.
