For more on how one organization is fighting to end veteran homelessness we are joined now by the executive director of u.s. vets clifton lewis. i call him cliff. thanks for being here. first, what is the mission of u.s. vets, why are you doing this, cliff? u.s. vets is largest nonprofit in the country to serve veterans and veterans at risk. we provide clinical services, we do support and outreach for veterans in our care. reason why we exist is to make sure that we do our part to work with our community partners to eliminate veterans homelessness. griff: how bad cliff is the problem. here in washington every now and then you see veterans, i m a vet, i was in the marines, the army, it brakes your heart to see that. it does, we are doing a lot. veterans homes has decreased by 11% here in district of colombia. roughly 300 veterans that are currently on the streets in washington, d.c. but we are doing a great job with working with the va and again our local community partners to make ....
