Shreveport Man Convicted of Attempted Murders A Shreveport man is likely headed to many years behind bars after he was convicted of trying to kill two men in December of 2017.  43-year-old Carlos Martel Lynn Smith has been found guilty on two counts of attempted murder. Texas Police Officer Shot During Traffic Stop BURLESON, Texas — A Texas police officer was shot multiple times during a traffic stop early Wednesday and police were searching for suspects, authorities said. The shooting happened at about 4:15 a.m. Wednesday in Burleson, about 45 miles (70 kilometers) southwest of Dallas, the police department said on Twitter.
