The Lake Havasu City Fire Department has installed close to 600 Knox Boxes through its Knox Box Program, and more will soon purchase more, thanks to donations from the community.
The Ashland Elks secured more than $3,000 in funding to purchase 15 new Knox Boxes for the community.
BROCKWAY – During the August meeting of the Brockway Borough Council, the borough announced that it is looking for community members to help out.
Knox Boxes are used to gain access to elderly or disabled patients in an emergency when that patient is unable to get to the door themselves. Having this box saves precious time and costly damage to the doors and windows of residences, according to a Wednesday news release from the city.
A local teen’s Eagle Scout project will benefit seniors in the community who require frequent wellness checks, allowing people to receive help without the fire department needing to knock down their front doors.
