BIRATNAGAR, April 10: The district administration has lifted the curfew clamped in five municipalities including Harinagar Rural Municipality and Dewanganj Rural Municipality of Sunsari.
A massive flooding of Koshi River in 2008 destroyed over 4,600 hectares of croplands in Sunsari. Many people are still unable to clear sand from their fields.
INARUWA, Jan 15: Normal life in Sunsari district has been affected for the past few days due to increasing cold. The district presently experiences thick fog and a cold wave.
Further investigation is underway, police say.
Around 3,100 bighas were covered with sand from the 2008 Koshi flood making them unfit for cultivation of traditional crops such as paddy, wheat and maize.
