"Today is the 7th day of the search and rescue operation at Summer Hill area. So far, we have recovered 17 bodies, and we are searching for other three victims. Teams of SDRF, NDRF and Indian Army are present at the spot," Roop Sharan, an NDRF inspector said while speaking to ANI.
The rains in Himachal Pradesh continue in the midst of the rising death toll and destruction while NDRF continues to run risky rescue operations.
The toll in Monday's temple collapse incident increased to 17 with rescue teams recovering one more body on Sunday.
More than 250 residents of landside-affected areas, including Krishna Nagar, Downdale, and Fagli, in Shimla have been relocated to safe places in the last three days. Multiple search and rescue teams are also working in landslide-affected areas across the district. NDRF inspector Nafees Khan said 16 bodies were recovered on Saturday and efforts are ongoing to find four more.
