At Central Railway headquarters a function was organised under the aegis of Staff Benefit Fund to celebrate International Women’s Day and Chaired by Anil Kumar Lahoti, General Manager Central Railway and Menu Lahoti, President Central Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation.
The award consists of a Medal, commendation certificate, a citation of exemplary safety work and a cash award of Rs.2000/-.
Earlier on Sunday Anil Kumar Lahoti, General Manager, Central Railway conducted the annual inspection on the Igatpuri – Kalyan section of Mumbai Division.
Zakin Hussain Ani, a member of the committee, said that the members put forth their demands in front of the general manager.
Speaking to reporters here, the Western Railway's general manager Anil Kumar Lahoti said, if the gauge conversion had been done based on the old survey, trains would have had to negotiate a sharp slope and this would have hit the traffic.
