Luxury spans many sectors: fashion, watches and jewelry, travel, real estate, and even publishing and night clubs.
It could take years to build a strong luxury business, and even then, there is no guarantee that consumers will connect with the product.

West Hartford zero-emissions rideshare startup launches

West Hartford rideshare startup Electra Technologies, which will only use zero-emission vehicles, is offering free rides starting today until the end of the month, when it will officially launch.
The company's fleet currently consists of two Teslas, co-founder Kyle Bryan said Thursday morning, but Electra is in talks with investors to buy more all electric cars.
"We see that Teslas, they're leading smart technology, and they're really the ones to grasp the electric vehicle atmosphere right now," Bryan said.
Electra is a recent alum of the Hartford-based ReSET startup accelerator, which works with local socially-conscious startups in its Parkville offices.

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — The start-up is called “Electra” and the idea behind it is as simple as getting from point A to point B in a cleaner, greener fashion.
Earth Day marked the launch of Electra, a ride-share company begun by young entrepreneurs Kyle Bryan and Amanda Dyas.
Their vehicle for change? Two Teslas.
Both Bryan and Dyas are sold on green technology and say they expect to find a clientele looking to do the same.

Young professionals despair over pro-Trump mob's siege of Capitol

Insider spoke to a diverse set of 12 young professionals and activists, including an Asian American climate change activist, a Black female journalist, and a white male political consultant, about how the riots at the Capitol made them feel and what hopes they have for their futures amid political unrest.
Some said they were still trying to process everything that happened, with one millennial calling it "deplorable" and another calling it "a clear depiction of white power and supremacy."
Claire Randolph, 20, is a Republican who said that Trump doesn't represent traditional values, and called Wednesday's events disturbing. "The saddest part is that it has nothing to do with politics anymore," she said. "This is pure anarchy."
