His first bill was less than $40, and his second was $530. “As soon as I opened it up and I looked at it, I was screaming,” Ford said. Christopher Begley, an angler from Rogersville, reeled in the massive capture while fishing from the Horton Ford bridge on the Clinch River above Kyle's Ford, according to a post from the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency on Wednesday (April 14). Per Tennessee law, Begley released the sturgeon back into the river. According to the Facebook post, the sturgeon was almost 30 years old. "Regional Fisheries Program Coordinator Bart Carter says the fish is nearly 30 years old and is from a restoration effort that began in 1992 when 3,200 lake sturgeon were released into the river," the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency wrote. According to the agency’s website, more than 220,000 lake sturgeon have been stocked in the upper parts of the Tennessee River and the Cumberland River since 2000. Kyle Ford entered a car that was backed into the driveway before being shot. Ford tried to run but collapsed shortly thereafter.
