A man who pretended to be a missing boy caused "an enormous amount of unnecessary pain" to the boy's family, prosecutors said at a sentencing Tuesday. Brian Rini appeared by video in federal court in Cincinnati, where U.S. District Judge Michael Barrett imposed a mandatory two-year sentence. "I just want to say I'm sorry for what I've done, and I wish I could take it back but I can't." Rini said. "I'm sorry to the family." Brian Rini pleaded guilty in January to identity theft. As part of the plea, prosecutors dropped a charge of lying to the FBI.
