The Midlands and western parts of KwaZulu-Natal experienced heavy downpours with alert level 2 thunderstorms on Monday into Tuesday night.
KwaZulu-Natal was last week hit by heavy rains and strong winds, resulting in infrastructure damage, with over 1,000 homes destroyed in parts of the province, and eight confirmed deaths.
The province was hit by severe weather conditions late last week into the weekend.
Areas under the Mtubatuba Local Municipality are the worst affected, following heavy rains in parts of the province over the weekend. Four people have been confirmed dead, with at least 70 houses destroyed.
Abaqulusi, better known as Vryheid, was the hardest hit followed by Ulundi and eDumbe.
