The heat and aridness of Uganda may seem like a million miles from Drogheda right now, but a large dollop of local kindness has just been unveiled in that corner of Africa.
Shalom Community House in Kampala was just officially opened last Tuesday to be a home for five children with disabilities and their carers, and it is down to the goodness of a local man and a community group. I went to Uganda eight years ago to help start this project with a group of Africans called Shalom Community, explains Andrew Kieran from Mornington. This project would not have been possible without the generous support of Phil Conyngham and Drogheda Cares at Christmas, and behalf of everyone, I would like to say a big thank you to the people of Drogheda.
