PARKERS CHAPEL - Parkers Chapel launched back-to-back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to beat Gurdon 7-6 on Friday. Sophomore Krista Rivers delivered the walk-off solo shot as the Lady Trojans improved to 5-6 with their third win in a row.
SMACKOVER - Smackover scored five runs in the first inning and then held on for a 5-2 victory over Dumas in 3A 8 softball action on Tuesday. The Lady Bucks improved to 5-4 overall this season.
JUNCTION CITY - Gurdon had a dominant second quarter and that was enough to pull away to a 55-39 victory in girls’ basketball action on Thursday. The Lady Go-Devils led 9-7 after one quarter before out-scoring the Lady Dragons 21-9 in the second.
PARKERS CHAPEL - Gurdon’s Camelia Ashford made a lay-up to beat the clock and hand Parkers Chapel its second loss in a row Friday 56-54. The Lady Trojans slipped to 17-5 overall and 5-2 in conference play.
