Using Optical Metrology for Large Optics in Telescopes
Using Optical Metrology for Large Optics in Telescopes Sponsored by 4D TechnologyJan 7 2021 The quantification of large optics demands metrology systems that operate in the context of turbulence, vibration and additional challenges. Figure 1. Measurement of large optics, such as this 8-meter primary mirror for the Large Binocular Telescope Observatory, requires metrology systems that can function despite vibration, turbulence and other challenges.
