In this edition of WYSO Weekend: Stories from the Eichelberger Center for Community Voices, more on how the pandemic is affecting education in the U.S., and from romance to Robins, WYSO Weekend is going to the birds.
Up first, West Dayton Stories is our series exploring the strength and resilience of Dayton’s African American community. It comes from the Eichelberger Center for Community Voices at WYSO, which highlights the stories of those whose voices often go unheard. Center producer Jocelyn Robinson has more.
Daytonian Larry Crowe has conducted over 1500 interviews of African Americans for the PBS History Makers Project. Here s his talk with WYSO s Basim Blunt about 3 prominent local Black Historians he thinks everyone should know.

breezy. a lot like yesterday and then, the morning fog will stay with us through the weekend and beyond. we have the chance of a sprinkle or two next week. thanks to a faster cycle time on the metering lights, there is no back up this morning on the bay bridge toll plaza. a much easier ride. if there are any house spots i will let you know about that and a complete traffic check. bill latest developments in san jose, city council is holding a special meeting this afternoon to discuss the possibility of this city declaring a fiscal emergency. that move would allow the mayor to push pension reform for city workers. labor and community leaders are rallying at city hall. will tran is live with the latest. they are mad because the mayor wants to declare a fiscal emergency. that will give the mayor power to circumvent the collective bargaining system. you can see sleeping bags. protesters are waiting for the meeting to begin at 1:30 p.m.. the mayor has a steep hill to climb.
.. you are doomed in the postwar elections. well, unfortunately we re out of time and we ve barely dented this boat. and one of the things that really impressed me with not just the number of parallels between these two long-time painful wars fought by to check for generations now, but the depth of the point that those parallels and also some important differences. so i hope this becomes required reading in our service academies and certainly by our elected officials what to do with issues of war and peace. but i just want to thank you providing this boat. thank you so much for the chance to chat with you. thank you. next, dinesh d souza contend that president obama s economic and foreign policy plans will weaken the united states and curtail the country superpower status. he presents his book at the national conference on christian apologetics audit northside baptist church in charlotte, north carolina. this program is 50 minutes.
