A longtime Valley practitioner has stepped into the role of Walla Walla County’s public health officer. Dr. Daniel Kaminsky was hired this month to take over duties from Dr. Larry Jecha, who has filled the position here for nearly 20 years and does the same for other counties. Sunnyside Testing Site Finds Numerous Covid Cases Yakima Health District officials say a COVID-19 testing site at the Sunnyside Community Center has detected a high percentage of positive cases in the county. A news release says in the just the first week of testing the site performed 561 tests with 21.6% being positive COVID-19 tests. Health officials say they know there's a high level of community spread happening in the county.
