Virus hunters: working on the ground
An international team of scientists has just used army ants as a sampling “tool” for plant and animal viruses circulating in a deep forest in Gabon. This innovative approach to viral ecology opens up new avenues for better surveillance of viral zoonoses at the level of tropical forest ecosystems.
