Drug seizures by Cumbria Constabulary down despite rocketing incidents across the country
DRUG seizures fell across the county last year despite rocketing incidents across England and Wales, figures reveal. Recent Home Office data shows Cumbria Constabulary made 896 drug seizures in 2019-20, down 7 per cent compared to 968 the previous year. That equates to 1,792 seizures per million population – below the national average of 2,808. In Cumbria, cannabis was the most commonly seized drug, involved in 59 per cent of cases.
