NCPA President Lea Wolsoncroft, owner of Remedies Pharmacy in Hoover, Ala., began her term on Tuesday with a renewed focus on the expanding role of pharmacists in public health, as well as a celebration of pharmacy in our communities.
Two resolutions were read and adopted by the House of Delegates on Tuesday at its annual meeting. Resolution number one ratified the actions of the Board over the past year since the 2022 annual meeting in Kansas City. Number two resolved that no PBM shall amend an agreement, provider manual, or other contractual term or document by fax and shall send a minimum of three electronic alerts to the pharmacy owner, or pharmacists in charge on record with the PBM, a minimum of 30 days before any contractual terms go into effect.
NCPA President-elect Lea Wolsoncroft recently visited with students at the Auburn University Harrison School of Pharmacy. She told them about the opportunities NCPA has for students and spent time discussing her path to pharmacy ownership and the NCPA fellowship program. She also shared that her pharmacy is planning to have a fellow this year.
KANSAS CITY, MO. (Oct. 4, 2022) – Hugh M. Chancy, RPh, was installed as 2022-2023 president of the National Community Pharmacists Association by its House of Delegates at the organization’s 2022 Annual Convention in Kansas City, Mo. Chancy is co-owner of Chancy Drugs which includes five retail pharmacies and one closed-door pharmacy located throughout South Georgia. The business is celebrating more than 55 years of service and specializes in compounding, specialty packaging, and enhanced clinical services.
