繼《英雄聯盟》開發商Riot Games將S11世界大賽自中國轉移至歐洲舉辦後，《鬥陣特攻》OWL聯賽對於即將到來的季後賽也緊急做出改制，原本OWL 2021季後賽將於美國境內舉行，然而官方對於所有參賽隊伍能帶著完整名單入境美國不再有信心，因此決定取消線下賽事，改採「夏威夷模式」－也就是晉級的西部賽
