Alba records $126m profit for Q1 amid poor global demand

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), the world’s largest aluminium smelter ex-China, said its net profit for Q1 fell to BD47.5 million ($126.2 million) from BD146.8 million ($390.4 million) last year, mainly due to the poor global demand as well as lower ME prices.
