State lawmakers returned to Nashville on Tuesday to begin a special legislative session on education called by Gov. Bill Lee. Tennessee education: Lawmakers approve learning loss, literacy bills

A separate budget bill allocated funding for the new programs, including giving districts money to provide 4% raises for Tennessee educators.
