New Delhi, Dec 4 (PTI) The Enforcement Directorate on Monday said it has frozen cash, bank balance and shares worth more than Rs 45 crore after it recently carried out searches in Mumbai and Chennai in a money laundering case linked to alleged misappropriation of Rs 129 crore.

The investigation is being conducted on the basis of an FIR registered by the ACB Rajasthan against Padamchand Jain (Proprietor: M/s. Shree Shyam Tubewell Company), Mahesh Mittal (Proprietor M/s Shree Ganpati Tubewell Company) and others including PHED officials.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot asserted that the credibility of the Enforcement Directorate was reducing in recent days. The probe agency has led a slew of raids across the poll-bound state in the past few days – including senior Congress leaders.
The AAP, however, alleged it was part of a bid by a scared BJP to finish off the party.
