Blue star Lee Ryan has been handed a 12-month suspended prison sentence at Isleworth Crown Court for racially aggravated common assault by beating and behaving in an abusive way towards a cabin crew member. He had earlier pleaded guilty to being drunk on an aircraft, for which he was handed a four-month jail term, suspended, to run concurrently. Ryan confessed to drinking a whole bottle of port and eating cheese in the British Airways lounge after the flight was delayed and said he had no memory of the incident.

The Blue performer was previously found guilty of racially abusing a cabin crew member during a short-haul flight last year.
The singer was "slurring his words and staggering around" after drinking a whole bottle of port before a flight from Glasgow to London City Airport last year, Isleworth Crown Court heard. After being refused more alcohol Ryan called a flight attendant a "chocolate cookie".
