付德顺因此被请了回来。
“不放电影后，我就不知道该干什么了。”付德顺说。
每当这个时候，他就会想起自己的“老伙计”——躺在密云电影中心库房里的那些老胶片。从1994年起，密云电影中心历经8次搬家，搬一次家，老胶片就换一个新地方。“我们库房里至今仍存着3000余部影片，我们一部也没舍得丢。”电影中心副主任李广有说。
黑白影片有《地雷战》《地道战》《南征北战》等；彩色影片有《刘三姐》《走近毛泽东》《冲出亚马逊》等，付德顺对每一个“宝贝”都如数家珍，他没想到还能有机会和当年的“老伙计”重逢。
为了迎接这次活动，付德顺还和其他几个技术能手一起，去密云电影中心修复了放映机。
由于年代久远，当时留下的胶片和设备有一些“老毛病”。付德顺说，他们先处理胶片，把胶片上的胶布等处理掉，然后用专门的机器进行清洗，将胶片上的污垢清洗掉；如果胶片有断开状况，还要用专用胶水黏合；放映机灯泡和齿皮带等，也需要更换稍好点的新配件。
密云区电影发行放映管理中心主任杨海艳提及，他们先期对全区340个镇村固定影厅和22套流动放映设备进行了排查，对老旧、故障设备进行了检修与更换，以保障展映活动顺利进行。
